Cases for people who got a data breach notice

A letter or email arrived saying your personal information was exposed. That notice is the main thing these 10 cases ask about. Comcast sent its notices around December 18, 2023. Lemonade sent them in April and June 2025. Equinox printed a notice ID on its letter, and that ID is required to file. The other seven each cover one named incident with its own dates.

Flat payments run from about $50 (Circle K, Comcast, Labcorp) to $100 or $200 at Americold. Documented-loss tiers go up to $2,000 at Circle K, $10,000 at Comcast and Lemonade, and $25,000 at Americold. The flat tier usually needs no receipts. The flat cash tier needs no receipts in 8 of these 10 cases, and the two exceptions (Equinox and Lemonade) ask for the notice ID or supporting records instead of purchase receipts.

Questions

I threw away the breach letter. Can I still file?

Often yes. Circle K, Comcast, Labcorp, Lands' End, STIIIZY and Americold let you self-certify on the claim form, and the administrator checks your name against the company's own notification list. Equinox is the exception in this group. Its claim form asks for the unique notice ID printed on the letter, so you would need to contact the administrator for a replacement. Mercor asks you to share the notification email during intake.

Which of these pays without any documents?

Circle K pays a flat $50, Comcast pays a $50 alternative cash payment, Labcorp pays about $50, Lands' End estimates $60, Excel Fitness estimates $50, and Americold pays $100 or $200 depending on whether its records show you were notified about one incident or both. STIIIZY pays a pro rata share without documents, and California class members there get double. Each of those figures is an estimate that moves with how many valid claims come in.
