Pays~$100

If Americold told you your information was caught up in its November 16, 2020 incident, its April 26, 2023 incident, or both, you can file with no documents for an estimated $100 (one incident) or $200 (both). Documented losses up to $25,000 need paperwork.

The settlement covers current and former employees and job applicants. Americold denies wrongdoing and agreed to a $5.25 million fund. Claims are due October 22, 2026.

You may qualify if

  • You are in the United States and Americold notified you that your private information was affected by the 2020 incident, the 2023 incident, or both.
  • You were a current or former Americold employee or a job applicant at the time.
  • For the cash payment, you need no loss records. The administrator uses its own files to see whether you were notified about one incident or two.
  • For up to $25,000 in unreimbursed losses, you need reasonable documents tying each loss to one or both incidents.

What you need to file

The online form is five steps: open the settlement site and choose Submit Claim, enter the Class Member ID from your notice, pick your benefits (documented losses, the residual cash payment, three years of credit monitoring, or an allowed combination), upload records if you are claiming losses, and submit.

The cash-only path takes a few minutes with your notice in hand. The loss path takes as long as gathering receipts, correspondence, and account records takes. Mail is accepted too, postmarked by October 22, 2026. Save the confirmation.

Deadline and what you get

File by October 22, 2026.

The estimated $100 or $200 can go up or down. It depends on how many valid claims come in and what is left in the fund after fees, administration costs, service awards, and credit monitoring. Documented losses are capped at $25,000 per person, and everyone who files can add three years of credit monitoring.

Filing on the official site is free, and the administrator decides eligibility. The Payout app also lists this one and links to the same form.

Questions about the Americold Data Breach case

I lost my notice. Can I still file?

The form is keyed to a Class Member ID from the notice. The settlement site is where to ask for help finding yours.

Do I have to prove I was in both incidents to get $200?

No. The administrator checks its own records to see whether you were notified once or twice.

Can I take the cash and the credit monitoring?

The form lets you choose an allowed combination of benefits, which includes the cash payment alongside the three years of monitoring.

What counts as a documented loss?

Receipts, correspondence, account records, or similar documents that reasonably connect an unreimbursed cost to one or both incidents.
