If Comcast sent you a data breach notice around December 18, 2023, you may qualify for a $50 cash payment with no receipts, and the deadline is September 14, 2026.
The settlement covers the October 2023 Xfinity breach, when attackers got into Comcast systems through a Citrix flaw. Roughly 35 to 36 million customers had usernames, hashed passwords, names, contact details and in some cases partial Social Security numbers exposed. Comcast denies wrongdoing and agreed to a $117.5 million fund.
Filing on the official settlement site is free. The administrator, not this site, decides who is in the class.
You may qualify if
- ✓You live in the United States or a U.S. territory.
- ✓Comcast (Xfinity) sent you an individual breach notice around December 18, 2023, or told you some other way that your information was exposed in the October 2023 breach.
- ✓For the $50 cash option, that notice is all you need.
- ✓For losses up to $10,000, you have receipts, bank statements, credit card bills or invoices tied to the breach.
- ✓For lost time up to $150 (paid at $25 an hour), you can describe the hours you spent and sign a short declaration.
What you need to file
No proof is needed for the $50 option. You do need the Class Member ID printed on the December 2023 notice, because the online form asks for it before it opens. If the letter is gone, the site has a "Need Help Logging In?" link that walks you through recovering the ID.
The online form is six steps: open the site, enter your Class Member ID, pick one benefit, upload documents only if you chose the loss or lost-time option, choose how you want to be paid, submit. With the notice in front of you, the $50 path takes a few minutes.
Deadline and what you get
Submit by September 14, 2026. You pick one benefit: $50 cash, reimbursement of documented losses up to $10,000, or up to $150 for time spent dealing with the breach. Everyone in the class also gets three years of Experian IdentityWorks identity protection.
The fund is $117.5 million and does not revert to Comcast. The $50 figure is the alternative cash payment set by the settlement; the final approval hearing was set for August 5, 2026 in Philadelphia. The Payout app also lists this settlement and links to the same official form.
