Taking claims · closes September 1, 2026
You may be in the Guitar Center wage settlement if you worked hourly in California between 2020 and 2025
Last checked July 27, 2026
There is no form to fill out. If you worked for Guitar Center Stores, Inc. as a non-exempt employee in California between January 11, 2020 and July 11, 2025, you are in the class automatically and a payment is calculated from your workweeks.
The fund is $2,418,495. Your share scales with how many weeks you worked during the period, so two people from the same store can get different amounts.
The one date to know is September 1, 2026. That is the deadline to opt out of the class portion, and the last day to say anything before payments are set.
You may qualify if
- ✓You worked for Guitar Center Stores, Inc. as a non-exempt (hourly) employee in California at any point from January 11, 2020 through July 11, 2025.
- ✓For the separate PAGA portion, you worked in that same kind of role in California between January 11, 2022 and July 11, 2025.
- ✓You have not already signed away claims covering the same allegations.
What you need to do
Nothing, in the normal case. The administrator already has the payroll records and sends payment without a claim form.
Two things are worth doing. Go to CAEmployeeSettlementGuitarCenter.com and check the workweek count and estimated payment shown for you. If the count looks wrong, send a challenge with pay stubs to Atticus Administration, P.O. Box 64053, St. Paul, MN 55164, or call 800-470-0690.
If you want out of the class portion, mail a written request to the administrator before September 1, 2026. The PAGA payment cannot be opted out of.
Deadline and what you get
September 1, 2026 is the opt-out cutoff. Payments go out after the final approval hearing on October 2, 2026, unless someone appeals.
The amount varies by weeks worked. There is no flat figure. The suit, Seilhamer v. Guitar Center Stores in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleged unpaid overtime, missed meal and rest breaks and inaccurate wage statements. Guitar Center denies it. The administrator sets who is included and for how much. This site does not.
