This is a law-firm investigation, not a settled class action. Milberg is looking at Commonwealth Financial Network's cash sweep programs, which moved uninvested brokerage cash into bank deposit accounts paying as little as 0.01% while money market options paid far more.

There is no claim form and no settlement fund yet. Signing up puts your information in front of the firm, which reviews it and decides whether to take you on. Nobody promises representation or a payment at this stage.

The sign-up is free. Payout is not a law firm and gives no legal advice.

You may qualify if

  • You held a brokerage account with Commonwealth Financial Network.
  • Uninvested cash in that account was swept into a bank deposit program.
  • You may not have been shown the difference between the sweep option and higher-yield alternatives.

What you need to file

The facts available list no documents. The sign-up on the Milberg investigation page asks for your information so an attorney can review it. Statements showing the sweep account and the interest paid would help that review, but the firm decides what it needs.

There is no administrator and no claim ID. You deal with the law firm directly.

Deadline and what you get

No public deadline is listed. The listing is marked open for claims, and the firm can close intake whenever it chooses.

No payment amount exists for participants. The investigation page notes that a court may, at its discretion, award class representatives $1,000 to $10,000 on top of any compensation based on actual damages. That figure applies to class representatives only, and only if a class action goes forward and succeeds.

Questions about the Commonwealth Financial Network case

Is this a settlement I can claim money from now?

No. It is an investigation by Milberg. Any recovery depends on whether a case is filed, how it resolves and a separate agreement with the firm.

Does signing up cost anything?

The sign-up is free. Whether the firm represents you, and on what terms, comes from the firm's review and a separate agreement.

Do I need my brokerage statements?

The listing names no required documents. Having statements that show the sweep account and its rate ready is useful if the firm asks.
